So was the trip to Etinan Local Government Area, an experience indeed, a visit to the land of a people off the Ibibio speaking stock. Etinan is located within the south-south (formerly known as south eastern part) of Nigeria and constitutes one of the Local Government Areas in the oil rich Akwa Ibom State. Known for its agricultural and arts craft products, the area forms one of the most peaceful locations in the West African State of Nigeria. Etinan people are dynamic, intelligent with a deep cultural heritage expressed through craft, arts, music and dances. Well accepted, Etinan is the brain basket of the State; mainly Christians and generally peaceful.

This is a belt of tall trees with dense undergrowth of shorter species dominated by climbing plants. The dominant species of the climbing plants is the lianas which are clustered and entangled in nature, making accessibility and exploitation of big trees very difficult. The prolonged rainy season, resulting in high annual rainfall above 2000mm in this area, ensures adequate supply of water and promotes perennial tree growth. This luxuriant vegetation belt stretches from the western border of Nigeria

Etinan is known for its arts craft products, the area forms one of the most peaceful locations in the West African State of Nigeria, with a private sector driven hospitality, e.g. hotels, clubs and gardens.

Large deposits of mineral resources such as clay, glass, sand and sharp sand. Agricultural resources include palm produce, cassava and yam. Now you can imagine the fun the Eclectic Crew had during the trip to this pleasant place.

Let us believe the pictures will convey the mood at the traditional marriage of a daughter of the land former Miss Uduak Nkanga who was traditionally joined in matrimony to Mr. Kingsley Ekong both graduates of the highly esteemed University Of Uyo. The marriage rites was witnessed by renowned personalities which included the executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Area, Hon. Michael Etim, Mr. Aniekan Ekah of Wetinhappen.com, Mr.Nelson
Nseabasi-another industrious publicist, Mr. Kelly Okure, Mr. Uduak Umoren, Mr. Ekerette Gibson, Mrs. Rebecca Ekwueme and other persons.

“Lord where do I start from is it when I was in my mother’s womb or when I was a toddler nor as a little girl in nursery, is it during my teens, then my youthful days in Uni. Is it during labour or now? All I want to say is thank you Lord for seeing me through Life's journey for being a Child to becoming a Woman, a Wife, a Mother, a Daughter, a Sister, a Cousin, Niece and a Friend to many of the most Amazing people. Above all for being your most LOVING CHILD. THANK YOU LORD. I'M HERE TODAY BECAUSE OF YOU. I'M WHO I AM BECAUSE OF YOU. AS LONG AS I LIVE I'LL SERVE ONLY YOU LORD. THANK YOU MY DEAR GOD.”
Doris Okpon Antiah July 29th, 2012
Early this morning I woke up, rushed and picked up my laptop after saying some words of prayers then said my good mornings to everyone at home. Right in front of me was the above message from a friend who was there for me -the experience though brief yet interesting and impacting. I remember her telling me how, when and where her life’s challenges began and where it led her. She believed so much in me and provided me the opportunity to be me by creating me the conducive environment-with her words of encouragement. I won’t forget all you went through at a time so this maiden edition is for you, for being there for me.On this note we welcome the birth of yet another blogger-zine,and like Doris Okpon Antiah, at some point in time we will reminisce this fateful day.
The picture above says volume-like the little, innocent and beautiful children, you started as them. They are the future, but it takes one with insight to see that on sight of the picture.Nobody could see the today you are in now.

So to God we say THANKS AND WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS and to you Doris Okpon Antiah, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
