Who tells the biggest lies in relationships – men or women?

In a relationship, people more often than not tell lies for reasonably good reasons.

Francis Maduekwe a graduate of history said ‘both tell lies. The difference is that guys are dumb that you can see through their lies and most times are stupid that they show it off as if it’s a trophy collection. While the women also tell lies theirs are woven and complex in nature but they have learnt how to cover their tracks than men. They have better memory in recollecting their lies while the men don’t. The conclusion is that while both tell lies, men tell unnecessary lie. They are both culpable.

Williams Peter, a business man said ‘Before marriage I would say it’s the lady but in marriage it is the guy. Before a girl gets married her indecisiveness makes her lie because she is trying to make the right pick but after marriage a lady knows that adultery is out of the question and if she is caught she may lose her marriage so she tells less lies but a man would in marriage tend to feels more at ease to lie, multiple date and so on’.

Joseph Okoro a banker believes ‘ A guy would always lie more. When a woman is in love, she opens up and tells the guy everything but a man even when he claims to be in love with a girl would still lie’.

Eniola Philips a student argued that ‘Definitely men lie more. Men are natural hunters and are wired to lie except when he has the fear of God which is very rare. Mind you going to church is not the same as having the fear of God. On a good day, men lie more. If a girl loves a man she would not lie but even when a man loves a woman he would still lie once in a while’.

‘From experience I would say the ladies lie more’, says Tari Spiff. ‘Girls lie but want to make you feel it’s the truth because they feel societal needs may not let them double date plus the thought that the man may also be lying may also make them tend to lie more’.

Moturayo Sanni gives an interesting opinion – ‘The men lie more in a relationship. They will lie in a way that they will convince you. Men are tricky. When a woman likes a man she likes him but a man once he has been deceived is always skeptical about women and tend to lie a great deal. Even the church ones lie a lot.
